Growing up in suburban towns outside of St. Louis, Missouri, Laura Les and Dylan Brady bonded over their love of music. While Les is based in Chicago and Bardy in Los Angeles, the two continued to talk to one another and collaborated on various EPs and singles. This culminated in the creation of their 2019 full-length album, 1000 Gecs. This was followed by a remix album, 1000 Gecs and The Tree Of Clues, where they collaborated with artists like Charlie XCX and Fall Out Boy. Their work has been described as futuristic hyper-pop and uses many references to the digital age and internet culture. Befitting of their internet inspiration, the duo creates their music by sharing Logic files over email, tinkering with the sound until they achieved something they’re both satisfied with. Their remix album peaked at #12 on Billboard’s US Alternative Albums and #3 on US Heatseekers Albums.
