A.C.E were a band from Sheffield, England. The band was active from 1972 to 1977, and their members were keyboardist/vocalist Paul Carrack, rhythm guitarist/vocalist Alan King, bassist Terry Comer, lead guitarist Phil Harris, drummer Steve Witherington, drummer Fran Byrne, and lead guitarist Job Woodhead. The members came from different bands. The band released music that blended funk and pop. They released their debut album, titled “Five-A-Side” in1974 under Anchor Records.
The album performed well and reached number 11 on Billboard 200. Also, the single from the album “How Long” achieved Top 20 on the UK Singles Chart and reached number 3 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1975. Their second album, “Time for Another” was released in 1975. Their third and final album, “No Strings” was released in 1977.
