Alejandro Chal, better known by his stage name ‘A.Chal’ is a new-wave R&B artist. Born in Peru, he grew up in New York City, but later moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams in music. Chal’s music career was launched as a producer, where he worked with influential artists like Jennifer Lopez.
Chal’s love of honesty and storytelling were his main motivators in the switch from producer to R&B artist. His debut album, ‘Gazi,’ released in 2016, has streamed over a million views on SoundCloud. The album features hit tracks like “Gazi,” “Round Whippin’,” and “Far From Home.” Chal’s unique sound shows wide-ranging influences, including reggae, hip-hop, rock, and trap. He has cited musical influences such as: Bob Marley, The Fugees, Kurt Cobain, Alanis Morissette, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay-Z, Prince, and DMX.
