Aaron Sorkin Bio
Aaron Sorkin is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and playwright born in New York City, New York on June 9, 1961. While attending high school at Scarsdale High School he became involved in the drama and theater club. In 1983 he graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater. In 1984 he premiered the first play that he wrote Removing All Doubt that was performed at Syracuse University. He went on to write the plays Hidden in This Picture, A Few Good Men, Making Movies, The Farnsworth Invention and To Kill a Mockingbird and has written the films A Few Good Men, Malice, The American President Charlie Wilson’s War, The Social Network, Moneyball, Steve Jobs and Molly’s Game. He has also created, written, and been the executive producer on the television shows Sports Night, The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and The Newsroom. He made his debut in acting in 1992 in the film A Few Good Men and has had roles in several other shows and films. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, 5 Primetime Emmy Awards and more.
