Abby Dahlkemper is a professional soccer player from Menlo Park, California. She was born on May 13, 1993, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She first represented the United States when she became part of the Under-17 team in 2010 as the team captain. In 2011, she joined UCLA and played for their women’s soccer team. As the center back, she won the NCAA National Championship in 2013. She was also part of the US Under-20 and Under-23 teams. She made her first senior debut in 2016 in a match against Switzerland. Considered by many as one of the best center backs in the world, she received the NWSL’s Defender of the Year 2017. She was the starting line-up in the 2019 World Cup in France, where she and her teammates won the championship. In 2021, Dahlkemper signed a contract with Manchester City to play in the English circuit.
