ABC is a Sheffield-based English pop band that was formed in 1980. Martin Fry, guitarist and keyboardist Mark White, saxophone Stephen Singleton, and drummer David Palmer were the founding members.
ABC, which evolved from Vice Versa, had ten UK and five US Top 40 hit singles between 1981 and 1990, and their debut album, The Lexicon of Love, was a UK number one in 1982. Their success in the United States in the early 1980s earned them the moniker "Second British Invasion."
ABC, which is now largely Fry's solo project, continues to tour and in 2016 published its ninth studio album, The Lexicon of Love II.
