Adam Horovitz is an American guitarist, rapper, and actor born in New York City, New York on October 31, 1966. He is best known as a member of the popular band the Beastie Boys. He started his music career playing in the punk rock band the Young and the Useless who often performed with the Beastie Boys. The Beastie Boys guitarist John Berry quit the band in 1982 and Adam got the opportunity to replace him even though he was only 16. The Beastie Boys were signed to the label Def Jam and released their first album in 1986 titled Licensed to Ill. The album became a huge success and the band continued to release seven more albums, Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication, Hello Nasty, To the 5 Boroughs, The Mix-Up, and Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. Their albums sold 22 million records in the United States and 40 million records worldwide. Horovitz has also had several roles in television shows and films like Roadside Prophets, Lost Angels, Golden Exit, and While We’re Young.
