Adrian Sherwood Bio

Adrian Sherwood is a record producer born on 20th January 1958 in London, England. He is known for working with a wide range of reggae musicians and artists in other genres of music. He is the founder of the Hitrun Records label, Soundboy Records, and Green Tea Records. He also co-founded Pressure Sounds and Carib Gems. He worked with many Jamaican artists in the 1980s under the reggae collective “Singers and Players”.

Sherwood started working with Lee “Scratch” Perry, a Jamaican dub singer and producer. The duo produced an album titled “Time Boom X De Devil Dead”. In 2003, he released his debut solo album “Never Trust a Hippy” in collaboration with artists like Sly & Robbie, Jazzwad, and others. His second album, titled “Becoming a Cliché,” was released in 2006. In the same year, he produced the original score for the film “Johnny Was”.
