Air is the Google-proof name of a French electronic music duo made up from Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel. Perhaps their greatest claim to fame is their emotive movie soundtrack work, especially the single “Sexy Boy” (1998) from the movie “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999). This cemented their place as the electronic band to watch at the turn of the millennium.
Other soundtracks followed for Air, including “The Virgin Suicides” (2000), “Le Voyage Dans La Lune” (2012), and “Music for Museum” (2014). In addition their soundtrack contributions have made it into TV series and films around the world, right to the present day. The group has also released five studio albums, starting with their debut “Moon Safari” (1998), which made quite a splash when it dropped. They work in the genres of trip-hop, downtempo, chill, space rock, and dream pop.
