The singer and songwriter Aitana, full name Aitana Ocaña Morales, was born on June 27, 1999 in Barcelona, Spain. She gained recognition in the year 2017, when she took part in the ninth season of the reality TV talent competition ‘‘Operación Triunfo’’, which she ended in the second place. Before starting the competition, she was known for song covers which she had been posting on her YouTube channel since 2014. Aitana started releasing singles while ‘‘Operación Triunfo’’ was still running, and experienced almost instant, stellar success. Her first single ‘‘No Puedo Vivir sin Ti’’ peaked at position number two, but her third single ‘‘Lo Malo’’, which features her fellow ‘‘Operación Triunfo’’ competitor Ana Guerra, and was a candidate for representing Spain in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, went to the very top of the charts, and also platinum. Aitana released her first studio album ‘‘Spoiler’’ in 2019, and received a Latin Grammy nomination, while her sophomore album ‘‘11 Razones’’ came in 2020. She has been nominated and won numerous awards, and accomplished collaborations with many international superstars, most notably Katy Perry.
