Alabama Bio
The most famous and successful music ensembles in the history of country music, Alabama is an American country music and southern rock band formed in Fort Payne, Alabama, in 1969. Formed by a trio of young cousins with a shared enthusiasm for music, the band found their breakthrough in the 1980s with hit songs that peaked the charts, seven multi-platinum albums and numerous awards and accolades under their belt. The band consists of Randy Owen (lead vocalist & rhythm guitarist), Teddy Gentry (bassist & backing vocalist) and Jeff Cook (lead guitarist & fiddle player) and has garnered massive success with their perfect crossover combination of country music and rock with folk and bluegrass accents. During their career spanning over five amazing decades, they have produced over 41 number one songs on the Billboard and sold an astounding number of 74 million records. Alabama was crowned with the Life Time Achievement Award by Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2019.
