Alan Arkin, full name Alan Wolf Arkin, was born on 26th March 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, United States. He is an actor, singer, writer, and director. He is known for his role in films such as The Russians Are Coming, Catch-22, Wait until Dark, The In-Laws, Little Miss Sunshine, and many others. Arkin started taking acting lessons from the age of 10. He performed and recorded in “The Baby Sitters,” a children's folk group.
On 11th February 2007, Arkin received the BAFTA Film Award for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role in the film “Little Miss Sunshine.” He began his directorial role in 1969 in a 12-minute child film called People Soup. He has directed a wide range of movies, including Fire Sale in 1977, Samuel Beckett is Coming Soon in 1993, and Arigo in 2000. He is also an author of many books, including The Lemming Condition, The Clearing, and others.
