Albert Hammond Jr., born as Albert Hammond III, on April 9, 1980, in Los Angeles, California, is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and music producer. He is best known for being the lead guitarist, occasional keyboard player, and backing vocalist of the popular rock band called The Strokes. He joined The Strokes while attending the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, New York, where he moved from Los Angeles. Albert Hammond Jr. has played some of the iconic solos on many of The Strokes’ singles such as Last Nite and Trying Your Luck. He has also written many of The Strokes’ singles. In October 2006, he released a solo debut album named Yours to Keep. In March 2008, his second studio album was released to which two more followed as well.
