Alejandro Fernández, born Alejandro Fernandez Abarca on April 24th, 1971 in Mexico City, Mexico is a singer that specializes in the genres of bolero, latin pop, mexican pop, mariachi, and ranchera. Alejandro began singing publicly at his father’s shows at a young age.
Alejandro released his debut album, Alejandro Fernandez, in 1992 under the Sony Music label. In 1993 he released the album Piel De Nina. The album became an instant hit and spawned the singles “Piel de nina,” “a la vera del camino,” and cascos ligeros.” In that same year he won a Lo Nuestro Award. Alejandro released his next album in 1994 called Grandes Exitos A La Manera De Alejandro Fernandez. He released a few more albums until 1997, where Alejandro crossed over into Latin Pop with his massively successful album Me Estoy Enamorando. From then on he fluctuated between traditional ranchera music and pop driven latin music up to his most recent album in 2017 called Rompiendo Fronteras.
Throughout his career, Alejandro has released a total combination of 22 studio and live albums. He won 3 Billboard Latin Music Awards and has been inducted into the Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame. Alejandro has also won a Grammy award and one ALMA award, along with a Lo Nuestro Award.
