Alex de Minaur Bio

Alex de Minaur is a professional tennis player born in Sydney, Australia, on February 17, 1999. His highest ranking, number 15, was on June 28, 2021. Fellow players selected him as the 2018 ATP Newcomer of the Year. He made his professional debut at the Spain F22 in July 2015, entering the quarterfinal. Adolfo Gutierrez coaches him.


Alex has won titles on four different continents. He reached his first Grand Slam QF at the 2020 US Open after winning his first ATP Tour doubles title at the 2020 ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati with Carreno Busta in his team debut. He was the youngest player to play in two consecutive ATP semi-finals after Rafael Nadal.


Alex debuted in the Davis Cup in February 2018. He played at several Grand Slam singles, including the Australian Open 4R (2022), the French Open 2R (2019, 2021), the Wimbledon 4R (2022), and the US Open QF (2020). His Grand Slam doubles record includes the Australian Open 1R (2017, 2021), the French Open 2R (2020, 2021), the Wimbledon 2R (2021), the US Open 2R (2019).
