Alex Greenwood Bio

Alex Greenwood (born September 7, 1993 in Liverpool, England) is an English soccer player most renowned for her position as left-back. She began her career at 8 years old with Everton football club. On 5 August 2010, she made her first team debut for Everton in a 6–0 UEFA Women's Champions League qualification round win against KÍ.

She continued to play for Everton, but after everton was relegated in 2014, Alex secured a 2-year contract with Notts County. In 2014, she played for the English National team. She was a part of the England Squad in FIFA women’s world cup 2015.

After her contract with Notts County expired, Alex joined Liverpool FC in 2016. In 2018, after a two-year spell at Liverpool, Alex joined league rivals Manchester United. In the same season she joined United, she was announced team captain. Alex led Manchester United to the Championship title in the 2018-19 season and helped secure a place in the FA WSL. After a successful season, United agreed to trade her with Olympique Lyonnais at €50,000. She won the UEFA Champions League title with Olympique before returning to England with a move to Manchester City on a three-year deal.
