Alex Guarnaschelli Bio
Alex Guarnaschelli is a female American chef born on 20 June, 1972 in New York, USA. She is titled an Iron Chef after winning Season 5’s The Next Iron Chef. She graduated from Barnard College in 1991 and in her early career, she worked under celebrity chef Larry Forgione. He encouraged her to further her skills in the culinary arts. After Alex graduated from La Varenne Culinary School in France, she worked in award-winning restaurants such as La Butte Chaillot owned by Guy Savoy and Patina owned by Joachim Splichal.
Alex released her first cookbook in 2013 titled, Old School Comfort Food: The Way I learned to cook. She’s also seen on Food Network shows such as Chopped, Iron Chef America and All-Star Family Cook-off. In 2021, she is the executive chef at Butter restaurant in New York, a role she previously held at The Darby, another award-winning restaurant.
