Alex Mallari Jr. (born February 19, 1988 in the Philippines) is a Philippine-born Canadian actor best known for his role as Four in the Syfy television series Dark Matter and for the The Adam Project, and the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.
Before he began his career as an actor, Mallari was a martial artist who competed in Taekwondo at the national level. Despite performing brilliantly in the art, Mallari abandoned the discipline, and pursued a career in basketball. However, following an injury, he reassessed his chances of playing professionally and turned to acting.
Mallari made his acting debut in 2009 in a segment of a TV documentary. After this, he took on a guest role on an episode of Steven Seagal's True Justice. Mallari made his film debut as a dancer in "A Dance for Grace" (2010). He continued to work secure small guest roles in series like Nikita, Cybergeddon, and Canadian young adult series The L.A. Complex. Mallari also appeared in a number of feature films including "Debug" (2014), the rebooted "Robocop" (2014) and "Pay the Ghost" (2015). In 2015 Mallari played the role of Ryo Tetsuto or "Four" in the science fiction series Dark Matter.
