Alexander Jerome Gould was born on May 4, 1994 in Los Angeles, California. He voiced the lead character, Nemo, in Finding Nemo in 2004. For this role, he won the “Best Voice-Over Performance” award from the Online Film & Television Association Awards as well as the “Best Performance in a Voice-Over Role – Young Actor” at the Young Actors Awards ceremony.
Gould is best known for his part as Shane Botwin in the drama/comedy Weeds, which ran from 2005 to 2012. He won another Young Artist Award for his role in this, and also nabbed another nomination for the same award as well as a nomination for the “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series” award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2009. Since he has aged and his voice has changed, he was no longer cast as Nemo in the sequel Finding Dory (2016); however, he did voice a different character. Gould is currently studying Philosophy in Massachusetts.
