Alexander Ovechkin was born in Moscow, Russia on September 7, 1985. He has been part of the all-star games in 2007 to 2009, 2011, 2015, 2017 and 2018. He received the Maurice Richard Trophy seven times, the Hart Memorial Trophy three times and the Ted Lindsay Award three times from 2007-2010. He also received the Calder Memorial Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, and Conn Smythe Trophy. He was the first round, first overall pick of the Washington Capitals in the 2004 NHL Draft. Ovechkin played for the Moscow Dynamo in the Russian Elite League and the Kontinental Hockey League. From 2003 to 2005, he was part of the Russia U-20 team and played in the World Junior U-20 Championships. He is an active player for the Capitals and he helped the team win the Stanley Cup.
