Alexey Oleynik Bio
Alexey Oleynik is a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter born on 25th June 1977 in Kharkiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. He has signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and competes in their heavyweight division. Alexey started his career in 1997. He joined MMA because he wanted to prove he was strong. In 2010, he took part in the inaugural heavyweight tournament. In November 2013, he signed a contract with UFC and made his debut against Anthony Hamilton in June 2014.
In July 2016, he faced Daniel Omielanczuk at UFC Fight Night 91 but lost the fight by majority decision. In January 2017, he faced Viktor Pesta at UFC Night 103 and won the fight via choke in the first round. In April 2019, he faced Alistair Overeem at UFC Fight Night 149 but lost the fight in round one via knockout. In August 2020, he faced Derrick Lewis at UFC Night 174 and lost the fight in round two through technical knockout.
