Alia Shawkat is an American actress and producer who was born on April 18, 1989, In Riverside, California. She started her career in front of cameras in 1999 when she acted with George Clooney and Ice Cube in the film ‘Three Kings’. That same year she made her first appearance on television in one episode of “JAG”. Her acting career started climbing since then. She appears in movies such as ‘Bart got a room’ with Danny Devito and Kristin Davis, and ‘The runaways’ with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. She is known for her regular role as Maeby Fünke in the 2003 comedy “Arrested Development” where she worked alongside Jason Bateman, Michael Cera and Portia de Rossi. In 2019 she starred in the short drama movie “Alina” directed by Rami Kodeih. This project received more than a hundred award nominations and Alia personally received 15 nominations, of which she won eight.
