Alisan Porter Bio

Alisan Porter, born Alisan Leigh Porter, is a country, pop, and rock singer, dancer, and actress from the United States. Born on June 20, 1981 in Worcester, Massachusetts, she is best known for her acting performances in movies like “Parenthood” and “Stella.”

She was born to a Jewish family of singers and entertainers. Her father, Ric Porter, was the lead singer of the Worcester-based Zonkaraz band. Her mother, Laura Klein, was a dance tutor and coach. It was obvious where Alisan got her music talent from. She became the youngest Star Search participant to ever win the competition at five.

The 42-year-old made her acting debut in the 1991 film, “Curly Sue,” as a child actress before she was cast in the 1989 ABC sitcom Chicken Soup. She later moved to New York to audition for Broadway shows after graduating from Staples High School, where she performed amazingly in the school’s drama.

Her performance in “The Ten Commandments: The Musical,” was widely applauded by critics, and further increased her popularity. In 2016, she was crowned “The Voice” winner. Alisan has two children with her ex-husband Brian Autenrieth.
