Alisson Becker is a Brazilian professional soccer player who represents the Brazil national soccer team and has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe. He plays as a goalkeeper and is well known for his game-winning heroics between the posts. Alisson was born in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil on 2 October 1992. He began his career at Sport Club Internacional, a Brazilian club in Porto Alegre, whose youth team he joined. In 2016, he left Brazil to ply his trade in Europe, representing AS Roma in the Italian Serie A. The English club Liverpool FC acquired his services in 2018, where the quality of his performances improved and his value rose. With Liverpool, he has won the UEFA Champions League, The English Premier League, the UEFA Supercup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Representing Brazil in the senior national soccer team, he has won the Copa America. His personal accolades include the Premier League Golden Glove Award, the Yashine Trophy, The Best FIFA Goalkeeper award, and twice named in the annual FIFA FIFPro World XI team.
