Allan Hawco is a Canadian actor, writer, and executive producer who is best known for his starring role in the CBC comedy/drama Republic of Doyle. Allan was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada on 28 July, 1977. Allan Hawco began his acting career in theatres. After graduating from the National Theatre School in Montreal, he starred in many theatre performances. With the help of a business partner, he created The Company Theatre, a production company that is behind the critically acclaimed plays A Whistle In the Dark, Through The Leaves, and Belleville. His career in TV has included outings in shows such as Frontier, Departure, and Republic of Doyle, a show that made him a household name in North America. On the silver screen, he has starred in the movies The Child Remains, Weirdos, and Hyena Road. At the National Theatre School, he received the Gascon Thomas Award. Other recognition for his acting include a Gemini nomination for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series, an ACTRA nomination for Best Male Actor, and an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Canadian Television Hall of Fame. |
