Alter Bridge is the remains of Florida post-grunge band Creed, after Creed split up. It’s a sort of supergroup now, since they recruited Myles Kennedy as their new frontman; he’s best known as vocalist for the backing band of Slash, the Guns ‘n’ Roses alumnus. He now joins with former Creed members Mark Tremonti (lead guitar), Brian Marshall (bass), and Scott Phillips (drums). Signed to the Wind-up Records label, their debut album, “One Day Remains” (2004) hit #5 on the Billboard Album 200 already, and was certified RIAA gold.
Alter Bridge has kept right up with four more studio albums, each charting decently worldwide, and had a major hit single with “Isolation” (2010), which hit #1 on three Billboard charts simultaneously. Guitarist magazine has named the solo from Alter Bridge’s song “Blackbird” as “the greatest guitar solo of all time.” In addition to touring and festivals, they’ve also teamed up with artists Godsmack, David Archuleta, and New Kids on the Block for some charity work.
