Altin Gün Bio
Altin Gün is a band from Amsterdam, Netherlands. The band was formed in 2016 and its members include vocalist/keyboardist Merve Dasdemir, vocalist/keyboardist Erdinc Ecevit, guitarist Thijs Elzinga, bassist Jasper Verhulst, drummer Daniel Smienk, and percussionist Chris Bruining. They are known for their unique music that blends cosmic reggae, psychedelic rock, synthpop, and deep funk with elements of Turkish folk music. The band released its debut album “On” in 2018.
Their sophomore album “Gece”, earned them a nomination for the GRAMMY Award in the category of Best World Album. The band has also gained fame for its energetic performances, which often light up stages whenever they perform. They have performed in many festivals and events, including CA’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Best Kept Secret, Primavera Sound, and Iceland Airwaves. In March 2023, the band embarked on an EU/UK tour, where they performed at different events.
