Amber Riley is an American actress, singer, and entrepreneur known for her work on the drama-musical series Glee. She was born Amber Patrice Riley on February 15, 1986, in Los Angeles, California, United States. Her breakout role in Glee was her introduction to the world of acting. Amber was a contestant on the seventh season of dancing with the stars, which she won. Her exceptional acting and singing have combined in theatrical showings such as Cotton Club Parade, Hair, Dreamgirls, and Little Shop of Horrors. Amber mostly focuses on her music career, and she has released a number of singles and a self-entitled extended play, Riley. She came together with Beverly Knight and Cassidy Janson to form a singing group called the Leading Ladies. Amber won the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, the 2017 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical, and the 2017 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
