AMENRA Bio

Amenra is a Kortrijk-based Belgian band. It was founded in 1999 by Colin H. van Eeckhout and Mathieu Vandekerckhove, who are now joined by drummer Bjorn Lebon, guitarist Lennart Bossu, and bassist Tim De Gieter.

They've published six studio albums in the Mass series, the most recent of which was released through Neurot Recordings. The band's distinct musical style is rooted in doom metal, hardcore punk, and post-rock, and is characterized by somber atmospheres and spiritual intensity. "Entrancing communions" have been described as their live performances, which are complemented by visual art.

Amenra founded Church of Ra, a collaboration of artists that now includes Oathbreaker and the Black Heart Rebellion, in 2005.
