Amorphis Bio
Coming from Helsinki, Finland, Amorphis was formed in 1990. The band was formed by lead guitarist Esa Holopainen and drummer Jan Rechnerger. They were later joined by Tomi Koivusaari and Olli-Pekka Laine. In 1991, they released their demo entitled “Disment of Soul.” They then released their first-full length “The Karelian Isthmus” in 1992.
“Privilege of Evil” was released in 1993. Then by 1994, Amorphis’ next CD “Tales from Thousand Lakes” was released. Kim Rantala later joined the band as keyboardist. The EP “Black Winter Day” followed in 1995.
