Ana Cañas is a Brazilian musician, singer, actor, and songwriter. Ana was born Ana Paula Hipólito Cañas Cañas on September 14, 1980, in São Paulo, SP, Brazil. She began her professional music career in 2007 when she signed with Sony and released her first album, Amor e Caos. The album soared to the Top 20 album charts in Brazil. Her discography includes the albums Hein?, Tô na Vida, and Todxs. She has been nominated for Best Contemporary Pop Album in the Portuguese Language at the Latin Grammys and the Revelação award at the Brazilian Music Multishow Award. Ana has appeared in the film Amre urbanos and the short documentary En Busca del Sonido del Viento. Her music focuses on gender equality and minority rights.
