Ana Popović is a Serbian blues vocalist, guitarist and songwriter born in Belgrade in 1976. She started her musical career in 1995 forming a blues band called Hush, with which she toured Greece and Hungary. After studying music in the Netherlands and recording a debut album with the name of her former band, she met blues guitarist Bernard Allison, who helped her sign a record deal with German label Ruf Records. Her second LP “Hush!” was recorded in Memphis, where she shared the stage with Bob Dylan, The Black Crowes, Michael Hill, and Ike Turner. In 2003 she was a guest in a studio album by Michael Hill. After some more studio albums, in 2005 she released a live album titled “Ana!” Live in Amsterdam which won a nomination for Best Female Blues Artist and Most Outstanding Musician with the Living Blues Awards. Popović topped the American blues charts with her albums “Can You Stand the Heat” (2013), “Trilogy” (2016), and “Like It On Top” (2019).
