Ana Torroja is a Madrid-based Spanish singer. Ana was born Ana Torroja Fungairiño on Dececmber 28, 1959, in Madrid, Spain. Ana is best known as the lead vocalist in the musical trio Mecano that she formed with brothers Jose Maria Cano and Nacho Cano. She wrote and performed pop and rock music with the band from 1982 to 1992 and briefly in 1998. Whith Mecano, she released hit albums like ¿Dónde Está El País De Las Hadas?, Entre el cielo y el suelo, and Descanso Dominical. After her days with the band, she started her solo career releasing the hit songs Un Ano Mas, Corazones, Ya No Te Quiero, and Duele El Amor. Together with her bandmates in Mecano, she won the Ondas Award for Best Live Artist and the Ondas Award for Best Group.
