Russian professional tennis player, Anastasia Potapova was born on 30th March 2001 in Khimki, Russia. In July 2016, she achieved the junior World No.1 title. The most successful events in her junior title include the 2016 French Open, the 2016 Australian Open, and the 2015 Wimbledon Championship. She won the 2016 Wimbledon Championship Girls’ title which propelled her to the top spot. In 2017 she made her WTA debut in Miami. It was in 2018 that she won her first WTA title at the St.Petersburg Trophy. She also won her first WTA doubles title with Vera Zvonareva at the Moscow River Cup. She ended the season within the Top 100 rankings. In the following year she won her first Grand Slam match at the Australian Open against Pauline Parmentier. In 2022, her season started with a Grand Slam doubles quarterfinal with Rebecca Peterson. She was ranked 122 during the Istanbul Cup in 2022. She won her first WTA title as a qualifier and climbed up the rankings. Following the Prague Open in 2022, she reached the World No.48 spot as a singles player and the World No.52 spot as a doubles player.
