Anderson East Bio
Musician Anderson East was born Michael Anderson on July 17, 1988 in Athens, Alabama. He grew up with musical parents who performed in church, and he wrote his first song in the seventh grade. He attended college in Murfressboro, Tennessee, where he studied music engineering. After graduating, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a full-time music career.
In order to make ends meet, East worked as a session musician and played guitar and background vocals for Holly Williams. Under the name Mike Anderson, he released his first album, “Closing Credits for a Fire,” in 2009. He then released an EP under the name Mike Anderson East entitled “Fire Demos.” In 2012, he released his next album, “Flowers of the Broken Hearted.” He signed with Low Country Sound in 2014 and released his major label debut, “Delilah,” in July 2015. His single, “Satisfy Me,” reached number 21 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart.
