Anderson “The Spider” Silva is a Brazillian-American mixed martial artist with years of experience in competitive combat sports. He was born Anderson da Silva in São Paulo, Razil, on 14 April 1975. Anderson began his career in Brazil in 1997 when he joined he began training in the disciplines jiu-jitsu, muay thai, and taekwondo. He first fought with the promotion company Pride Fighting Championships, and in 2004, he began fighting with Cage Rage as well. The Ultimate Fighting Championship signed him in 2006, and Anderson would go on to fight under the promotion until 2020. In 2006, Anderson beat Rich Franklin to become the Middleweight Champion of the World. Anderson became UFC’s longest-reigning champion and had the longest winning streak and title defenses. Anderson is known for his speed and accurate striking.
