Andrew Benintendi is an American professional baseball player born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 6, 1994. He is currently an outfielder for the Boston Red Sox of the Major League Baseball. Andrew went to high school at Madeira High School in Madeira, Ohio and played for the school’s baseball team the Mustangs. In his senior year he batted .564 with 12 home runs, 57 runs batted in, and 38 stolen bases with the team. He attended college at the University of Arkansas and played for the college team the Arkansas Razorbacks. In his freshman year he played 61 games starting 60 of them and hit .276/.368/.333 with one home run and 27 runs batted in. In 2015 he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, 17th overall. He made his Major League Baseball debut on August 2, 2016 against the Seattle Mariners as a pinch hitter. On August 3 he recorded his first major league hit off Hisashi Iwakuma. During his time in the Major League Baseball his batting average is .279 with 38 home runs and 188 runs batted in.
