Andrew Cushin is a singer born on 29th December 1999 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. He is best known for releasing music in the genres of alternative, indie folk, and indie rock. Growing up, Cushin had a passion for music. By age 15, he had started playing the guitar. Three years later, he performed at the Gateshead’s Station East. A demo video of Cushin was sent to Noel Gallagher, who was impressed and ended up signing him to Virgin Records in August 2019.
He released his debut single, “It’s Gonna Get Better” in March 2020, followed by “Waiting for the Rain” in June of the same year. However, during the COVID-19 period, he was dropped by the record label. As a result, he self-released the single “Memories” in June 2021. A few months later, he performed, for the first time, at the Leeds, Isle of Wight, and Reading festivals. In 2020, he signed a recording contract with Strap Originals, which is owned by Pete Doherty. He went on to release his debut EP “You Don’t Belong” under the label in April.
