Estonian tennis player, Anett Kontaveit was born on 24th December 1995 in Viimsim Estonia. In 2009, she became the youngest player to win the Estonian Championship. When she began her junior career in 2011, it was a successful one, with Roland Garros being her best Grand Slam Performance. She won her maiden ITF title at Tallin and was chosen for the Estonian Fed Cup Team in 2011. In 2012, she became the first Estonia to reach the girls’ singles finals at the US Open. She qualified for her first WTA tour at Auckland Open in 2014. She then played at the Fed Cup, where she won a total of 49 games in a row. In the same year, she qualified for Wimbledon for the first time. After struggling with infectious mononucleosis, she returned to the Fed Cup in 2015. However, her strongest performance after the illness was at the ITF in Istanbul. She has six singles WTA titles and four doubles ITF titles. She was ranked World No.2 by the WTA in 2022, making her the highest-ranked Estonian player ever.
