Born on October 16, 1995, Angel Bismark Curiel is an actor from Liberty City, Miami. Curiel was born in New York before moving to the Dominican Republic. He moved with his mother and sister to Liberty City when he was 7. He originally was headed for the military but was rejected because of his asthma. Originally meant as rehabilitation for his bad behavior in class, acting became a passion of Curiel. After graduating high school, he attended Pace University to study acting. While in New York, he began auditioning for films and shows and eventually landed his breakout role as Lil Papi in the hit show Pose. Originally a peripheral role, he became a more central character throughout the show’s three seasons. Curiel received a nomination for best supporting actor in the 2019 Imagen Awards for his role as Lil Papi.
