Anna Deavere Smith is an actress born on 18th September 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. She is widely recognized for starring in the political drama series “The West Wing” as Dr. Nancy McNally from 2000 to 2006, and the legal drama TV series “For the People” as Tina Krissman from 2018 to 2019. Earlier in her career, she appeared in numerous productions, including the Off-Broadway production “The Merry Wives of Windsor.” After a few theatrical appearances, he starred in a number of films, including “Philadelphia” in 1993, “The American President” in 1995, “Rent” in 2005, and “Rachel Getting Married” in 2008.
In 2015, she made a guest appearance in the documentary television series “Find Your Roots.” In 2017, she worked on the biographical film “Can You Forgive Me?” together with Melissa McCarthy. Anna has also been nominated to two awards: Critics' Choice Awards-Best Acting Ensemble in 2009 and SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2012
