Anna Kendrick is an American actress and singer born in Portland, Maine on August 9, 1985. Her career in acting started from a young age, at 12 years old she landed her first role in the 1998 Broadway musical High Society. For her role in the musical she was awarded a Theater World Award and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award and a Tony Award. She also had a role in the 2003 musical A Little Night Music at the New York City Opera. In 2003 she landed her debut role in a film in the movie Camp and has continued landing roles in films like Twilight, Up in the Air, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Pitch Perfect, The Voices, Into the Woods, Digging for Fire, The Hollars, Drinking Buddies, A Simple Favor and others. She has also had roles on television shows like Viva Laughlin, Fear Itself, Family Guy, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Saturday Night Live, Billy on the Street and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. She became well known in 2008 for her role in the film Twilight and has become increasingly popular ever since.
