Anna Kournikova is a Russian former professional tennis player born in Moscow, Russia on June 7, 1981. She is one of the most famous tennis players worldwide and was one of the most searched athletes on Google search for some time. Anna received her first tennis racket at the age of 5 and began training at 6 years old. She was 8 years old when she started playing in junior tournaments and she quickly caught the interest of tennis scouts around the world. At 14 years old she became the youngest player to win the Junior Orange Bowl tennis tournament in 1995. As a single player she reached number 8 in the world and when playing doubles she was the number 1 world player. She has won two Grand Slam titles in Australia in 1999 and 2002 and won two WTA Championships in 1999 and in 2000 with her partner Martina Hingis. In 2000 she became the face of Berlei Sports bras and has been featured on the covers of magazines like FHM, Maxim, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Kournikova retired 21 years old in 2007 because of serious back and spinal problems.
