Anna Whitehouse is a writer, editor, and founder of Mother Pukka based in London, England. Whitehouse was living in the Netherlands before moving back to the United Kingdom in 2014. She was working full-time as a journalist and editor before quitting due to her employer’s inflexible schedule. This inflexibility caused Whitehouse to spend less time with her daughter, a problem that she wanted to fix. That’s where the idea for Mother Pukka came about. In 2015, she launched her website with the tagline “for people who happen to be parents”. In addition to blogging about working as parents, Whitehouse also launched the Flex Appeal movement where she campaigns for legislative changes concerning employment flexibility from the British government. Whitehouse co-authored Parenting The Shit Out Of My Life and Where’s My Happy Ending? Outside of writing, Whitehouse has given a TEDx talk on flexible writings and hosts her own show on Heart Radio.
