Anthony Anderson Bio

Anthony Anderson was born on August 15, 1970 in Los Angeles, California. Anderson began his career in showbiz at a very early age after appearing on a TV commercial when he was 5. He landed several other gigs growing up which led him to receiving a talent scholarship to Howard University. More serious acting gig came and he appeared on his first regular TV show Hangtime (1996-1998) as well as appearing on an episode of NYPD Blue (1998.)

A year later, he made his big screen debut in a film called Liberty Heights (1999). In the same year he appeared in 2 other films: Life (1999) and Trippin (1999). He went on to star in numerous other movies, most notably; Romeo Must Die (2000), The Departed (2006), Transformers (2007) and many others.

In 2003, Anderson starred in a TV show based on his character called All About the Andersons. He then went on to appear on several notable shows such as Veronica Mars (2005), Entourage (2005), The Bernie Mac Show (2005), and many others. Anderson then landed a regular role on Law & Order appearing for 50 episodes. Anderson has been producing and starring in his hit TV show Black-ish since 2014 in which he was nominated for an Emmy Award three times, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award.
