Anthony Kiedis is an American musician, songwriter, and actor born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 1, 1962. He is best known as the lead singer for the band that he helped create the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 1983 he and band members Hillel Slovak, Jack Irons, and Flea started the band the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem and eventually changed the band’s name to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They released their self titled album The Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1984 and continued to release the albums Freaky Styley, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Mother’s Milk, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, One Hot Minute, Californication, By the Way, Stadium Arcadium, I’m with You, and The Getaway. They have released a total of 11 studio albums, 3 live albums, 12 compilation albums, 5 EPs, and 44 singles. The band has also made appearances in movies Thrashin’ and Tough Guys. The band has received a number of awards throughout their time together. Kiedis has also had roles in several films and television shows like F.I.S.T., ABC Afterschool Special, Jokes My Folks Never Told Me, Point Break, and The Chase.
