Antonio Gates Bio
Antonio Gates was born Antonio Ethan Gates Jr. in Detroit, Michigan on June 18, 1980. He serves as the tight end for the Los Angeles Chargers and wears shirt No. 85.
The Chargers decided to sign him as an undrafted free agent in 2003. In 2018, he signed another contract with the Chargers which is valid for one year.
During his career in NFL, he has been part of the NFL Top 100 three times. He ranked No. 22 in 2011, No. 73 in 2013 and No. 52 in 2015. He was also part of the second team Pro Football Hall of Fame All 2000s team and second team Pro Football Reference All 2000s team. He has also been selected for the Pro Bowl eight times. He was part of the first team All-Pro three times, and he has been the AFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 2 of 2014.
