Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Bio

Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira is a former mixed martial art fighter better known in the ring as Minotauro. He fought in the heavyweight class and heavily based his fighting style on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Noguiera was born on June 2, 1976, in Vitoria da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil. His mother was a gym owner, which led him to participate in gym activities and train in martial arts since he was 4, starting with Judo. Nogueira was hit by a truck when he was 11, causing him to lose some of his physical abilities. At 14, he decided to return to martial arts, re-learning judo before eventually picking up boxing, Brazilian JiuJitsu, and freestyle wrestling. He began competing in lower-level Jiu-Jitsu competition before becoming interested in MMA. Nogueira debuted in 1999, fighting in World Extreme Fighting 5. He fought in Rings MMA and Pride FC in Japan before fighting in UFC. In 2015, Noguiera announced his retirement. In his professional fighting career, Noguiera amassed 34 wins, 10 losses, 1 draw, and 1 no contest. Along with his twin brother and fellow MMA fighter Antônio Rogério Nogueira, he is the owner of Team Nogueira.
