Araya Mengesha is an actor born on July 23, 1987, in Toronto, Canada. Mengesha graduated from Ryerson Theatre School. He started acting professionally when he was young, appearing in a guest capacity in shows like Real Kids, Real Adventures and Screech Owls since 1999. His first big role was as one of the teenaged hosts in the documentary television series, Mystery Hunt. He hosted the show from 2002-2006 with Christina Broccolini and David Acer. His other television credits include recurring roles in Rogue, Shoot the Messenger, Anne with an E, and Tiny Pretty Things. Mengesha also has appeared in many stage productions. He played Young Simba in the Disney/Mirvish production of The Lion King. His other stage credits include roles in Breath of Kings, War Horse, Rice Boy, and Macbeth.
