Arie Luyendyk is a TV Personality and auto racing driver, born on September 18, 1981, in the Netherlands. He is best known as an Indianapolis 500 starter and a contestant on the reality show The Bachelor, where he proposed to Becca Kufrin. He began racing cars at only 16, following in his father's footsteps, the two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk. He drove for A1 Team Netherlands and Andersen Racing. Arie made his Indy 500 debut in 2006 and also competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona in the DP category as well as the 12 Hours of Sebring in the GT class. The Dutch-born racer was also voted INDYCAR's Firestone Indy Lights Most Popular Driver four years in a row. In 2012, Arie starred in season 8 of ABC's dating competition The Bachelorette, where he placed first runner-up.
